It helps to know some HTML basics if you
wish to design your own website. If you are not keen to learn HTML
until you need it to 'tweak' a website you are buidling using software,
our ebook, Successful Affiliates Guide,
provides a full HTML guide with HTML to copy and paste. Its
alphabetical index helps you to find what you need quickly. It also
explains how to use the free and popular HTML editor Kompozer
(developed from the original Mozilla Suite HTML editor). To make life
even easier for you, we provide professional quality webpage templates
which you can 'download' from the ebook as an HTML webpage ready to use.
To get started without using our ebook immediately, download Kompozer
to your
computer and start building your webpage using Kompozer like a word
processor. Hint: to get the right page layout, place content within
what HTML calls 'tables'. The white box within which this text is
displayed is a table with one row and one column. The grey box around
it is one 'cell' of another table with four rows and one column.
To help you on your way, you can use free templates widely available on
the net. Unfortunately many of these templates are difficult to
manipulate for your own use, so do shop around. (You can always use the
easy-to-use templates in our ebook if you get completely stuck!)
Remember, you can look at other people's website 'source' coding via
your browser's 'page' menu if you want to see how others have coded for
specific looks. You do need a little HTML knowldege to do this, of
course.
You may have noticed that it is possible to save a Microsoft 'Word'
document as an HTML file. Unfortunately, the layout of such documents
is usually disrupted, so you cannot use Word as a webpage builder. Even
web design software designed to 'fix' Word-generated HTML documents
don't do a very good job of it.
Good luck with your webpage building and design.
